Evanton Community Trust is a Company Limited by Guarantee with Charitable status.

Its objectives are “to develop new and improving existing community assets which will produce improvements in the local environment and lead to a stronger more vibrant community”

Full membership of the Trust is open to anyone over 18 who resides within the defined boundary of the Parish of Kiltearn but non-residents can become Friends of the Evanton Community Trust, although they do not have full voting rights.

The Trust has a Board of Directors appointed from within its membership. The Board are responsible for managing the Company’s affairs. It currently comprises a total of eight Directors with a wide range of backgrounds and experience. For a list of current Directors click here

Under its Memorandum of Association, the Trust has wide ranging powers and capabilities including raising funds, receiving grants, owning land and property, establishing community and social enterprises as well as creating projects and developing partnerships.

As a Company and a registered charity, the Trust is required to operate within laid down corporate governance guidelines and submit independently examined annual accounts, thus providing a high degree of reassurance that finances provided through local fund-raising activities or via other charitable bodies are properly managed and are used solely for the charity’s stated purposes.
